My path to midwifery began in 1998 when I attended a friend’s home birth with some of BC’s first Registered Midwives. The miracle of that first birth remains with me and fuels my passion for educating families about physiologic birth and supporting informed choice. I continue to be awed by the strength of women and inspired by the creation of family that occurs with the birth of a new baby.

Graduating from the UBC Midwifery Education Program in 2009, I worked in full time clinical practice in Vancouver until giving birth to my own daughter in 2017. During this time I worked out of many different hospital settings, ranging from small health centres to BC Women’s Hospital in Vancouver. In addition to working out of various hospital settings I worked with many families planning home births, averaging 35-50% of my caseload. My dedication to best practice and patient safety sparked my interest in regulatory work and I have been actively involved with the College of Midwives of BC as a member of the Board and through work with various committees.

Having grown up in the Comox Valley, it feels natural to return here to raise my own family. I look forward to meeting and working with you in in this beautiful place we call home.
